An overarching theme of the Easter season is one of belonging. From Thomas still finding his place despite, or perhaps because of, his doubts, to our place in the sheepfold and on the vine, to the embrace of the Spirit, we are reminded repeatedly about our place in God’s family.
When thinking about what makes a person a Christian, we often start with belief – someone confesses faith in Christ, then learns about what it means to follow Jesus, and only then finds belonging in a community with other Christians.
But Jesus didn’t work that way! In this sermon series, we will explore how Jesus lived out a gospel of welcome and homecoming and showed us the power of belonging even when we don’t know exactly what we believe.
