R.A.I.S.E Movie NightFeaturing "SELMA" - Sunday, March 2, 2025 6:00pm Respect-Advocate-Inspire-Support/Spirituality-EducateIn honor of black history month, R.A.I.S.E will be featuring the movie "Selma" PG-13 in the Narthex. Pizza will be provided. Come watch, learn and discuss.
Although the Civil Rights Act of 1964 legally desegregated the South, discrimination was still rampant in certain areas, making it very difficult for Blacks to register to vote. In 1965, an Alabama city became the battleground in the fight for suffrage. Despite violent opposition, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his followers pressed forward on an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, and their efforts culminated with President Lyndon Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Lutheran 101: Essentials for Faith & LifeCome with questions, curiosity, and a willingness to explore faith in a fresh way! - Tuesday, March 4, 2025 If someone asked you, "What is a Lutheran?" what would you say? Maybe something about grace—Lutherans believe in grace! Absolutely. But is that all? Lutheranism is more than just a belief system or a style of worship. It’s more than learning the catechism in confirmation class. At its core, being Lutheran is a way of living—one shaped by God’s grace and grounded in a deep understanding of faith, purpose, and daily life. It shapes how we show up in the world—at church, at work, at home, and with friends. Whether you’ve been Lutheran all your life, are new to the tradition, or just curious, this class will explore what it truly means to be Lutheran and how our faith gives us the essentials for living with confidence in God’s love. Join us every Tuesday in Lent, starting March 4th at 6:00 PM in the narthex. Come with questions, curiosity, and a willingness to explore faith in a fresh way! Students will study scripture and reflect with the pastor, youth leaders, and other adults in the congregation, learn about the Lutheran perspective on Christian faith, engage in service projects, and learn more about worship practices. At the end of the three years, students have the opportunity to affirm their baptism before the congregation and then we throw a party to celebrate God's work of love and grace in their lives! **Please note that there is no Confirmation on Church Brunch Sundays (2nd Sunday of each month) For more infomation visit:
