YOUTH & FAMILY MINISTRY @JOY

Kids are an important part of our community. They are not just the future of the church, they are the church now! We seek to form our kids in faith, encourage them to ask challenging questions, empower them to love and care for the neighbor, and serve as leaders during worship and in other ministries.

For all students who wish to participate, we ask their parents to complete a Medical Release & Consent form.

Please click on the button below to download the form. Complete the form, print it, and return to the church office or Pastor Sean.

Kids Sunday School

(Preschool - 5th grade)

*Will resume September 17, 2023*

10:40-11:20am each Sunday except the 2nd Sunday of each month and holidays.

Sunday School meets in Brause Fellowship Hall.

Come and join us as we dive into God's stories this year!

Confirmation

Confirmation is a three-year program for teen youth to engage more fully in their faith. It includes a focus on the Lutheran perspective and studying scripture more intently. At the end of the two years, youth have the opportunity to affirm their baptism in the presence of the congregation and then we throw a party!

Who is Jesus to you?

This is what our Confirmation students said...

High School Ministry

Holy Grounds is a weekly gathering of high school youth at Jitters Café with Pastor Sean and other adult youth leaders. It’s an opportunity for fellowship, peer support, and faith formation before school hours over beverages at no cost to youth. Please consider supporting this ministry with prayer and donations to cover the cost of beverages. You can donate online via our webpage. For more information, contact Pastor Sean Avery.
*Will resume September 11, 2023*

Intergenerational Events

During the year, we host various intergenerational events for all - both for the young and the young at heart. Regardless of age, we can learn a lot about God, faith, and relationships from each other. At these events, we learn together and engage in various activities with the goal of learning and building community.
