Service in Christ's Name
God doesn't need your good works,
but your neighbor does.
ways we Love & Serve our neighbors
Committed to Community
Through Jesus Christ, we are set free from having to earn God's love and we are free to love and serve the neighbor. The life of a Christian is lived out in community with others in a variety of settings including our workplaces, schools, families, sports teams, and clubs.
Some of the ways our faith community serves our local community of Eagle River is through the ways we support and participate in the ministries below.
Ways We Serve
For upcoming events, check out our calendar of events.
Each year we collect food with other local churches and assemble Thanksgiving dinner meals to those who do not have the means to purchase them.
We collect socks throughout October for homeless shelters. Socks are the one of the most needed items during the winter. We collect, bless, and send them to those who need warm feet in our community.
Our Hands Sunday
Each year ELCA congregations nationwide engage their communities through service projects on a national day of service.
July through August we collect school supplies for local families who do not have the means to afford them for their students. We collect, bless, and send them to our local Eagle River schools.
A few times per year, we partner with a local organization to recycle electronics. We host a drive-up drop-off in our parking lot.
Faith & Understanding
We host forums a few times per year focused on social issues confronting our local communities. Guest speakers are invited and attendees are invited to engage in thoughtful, respectful dialogue.
We support those recovering from substance abuse by providing space for weekly meetings.
Eagle River Food Pantry
We continuously collect food for the Food Pantry. See our collection bins in the narthex outside the sanctuary.
Joy is the charter organization for Boy Scouts Troop 219. They meet in our building and offer support for ministries such as the Thanksgiving Blessing
